ALPHABETS • TYPOGRAPHY
Personal project
2019 • Nashik, India

During the pandemic, while I was stuck in India, waiting to find out when the lock down would lift, a designer friend of mine started an ‘Alphabet Challenge’. Inspired by her work, I started to do a typography project of my own.

I chose a flower or a plant starting with the alphabet I was going to draw out and I challenged myself to hand letter all the alphabets and incorporate the corresponding flora.

Going through the series you can see where I was unsure and where I finally started to find a process and confidently develop a style. It happened somewhere around ‘G’ I think.

Experimenting with sharpies, drawing inks, tracing paper and then converting it to digital was the final process I decided on doing. Five years later, this remains a favorite personal project of mine.
