KELKAR HOSPITAL
Healthcare
2017 • Nashik, India

A branding project that remains one of my biggest learning moments even now, Kelkar Hospital rebrand allowed me to work with architects, interior designers and hospital admin to understand the needs, wants and desires of running a small successful medical care facility in India.

Kelkar hospital ran a successful orthopedic surgery practice out of Nashik for 30 years. When new doctors from the family joined the practice and wished to expand the services, a total rebrand of the hospital building and identity was on the cards. The challenge with this project was to maintain the trust, authenticity and care that was associated with the name but to also provide an elevated experience to anyone who walks the doors without being intimidating to a certain section of the patients. “People should feel like they are in good hands, but should not feel like they will not be able to afford care here” was the brief given to me for the rebrand.

This project was so fulfilling as a designer, because the end deliverable was a physical space that people interacted with and we could see their reactions. The feedback from past patients was very positive and anyone new walking the doors felt like they belonged and could easily navigate their way around the space.

In a moment of a medical crisis or emergency, getting the correct necessary information at the right time can alleviate a lot of stress. This was the intention with the rebrand and I am happy to report Kelkar Hospital is still proudly wearing their mark in 2025.
